Egypt youth were featured in the Gomhorya, a national Egyptian
newspaper, for their participation in the 2006 YouthCaN Conference.
YouthCaN is an iEARN project where youth facilitate an online network
of students using telecommunications technologies to undertake and/or
share environmental work locally and around the world. The
conference was held at the American Museum of Natural History, and

Egypt has held its second annual conference named 'YouthCaN' which is
open up for the youth to express their care and awareness about
environmental issues through innovative projects, awareness campaigns
and share of experiences. Dalia Khalil who is supervising the
conference mentioned that the students researched a number of important
topics including Bird Flu, renewable energies, water as a strategic
source for life and pollution. Dalia Khalil added that the conference
attracted 500 students (males and females) and Professors from New
Hampshire University in the US and the American University in Cairo. In
the conference, students presneted their research projects.
