Student Exchanges
From 2003-2006, the GCE Program supported the reciprocal exchange of 108students and 27 teachers from the following countries: Egypt, Bahrain, Lebanon, India, Jordan, Morocco, Pakistan, Syria and the United States. Traveling delegations consisted of one educator and four youth. The minimum visit was three weeks and participants lived with host families, attended school, and participated in extracurricular activities to learn about the daily lives of their peers. Before and after the exchanges, participants met online to learn about one another and plan activities and joint project work.

Exchanges took place between the following schools:
 
May 11- June 1, 2003: Students from Morocco hosted by The InternationalPreparatory School in Cleveland, OH.
 
May 11- June 1, 2003: Students from Al-Murtaza school in Karachi, Pakistan hosted by The Metropolitan Learning Center in Bloomfield, Connecticut.
 
October 16- November 6, 2003: Students from Hosni Mubarak School for Boys in Alexandria, Egypt hosted by The International Preparatory School in Cleveland, OH.
 
October 17- November 7, 2003: Students from Beni Suef School for Girls in Egypt hosted by Notre Dame Academy in Worcester, MA.
 
December 1-21, 2003: Students from Islamabad, Pakistan hosted by The Metropolitan Learning Center in Bloomfield, CT.
 
December 1- 22, 2003: Students from Jamal Eddine Elmahyaoui High School in Casablanca and AbdelKrim ElKhattabi High School in Rabat, Morocco hosted by Providence Day Academy in Charlotte, NC.
 
January 30 - February 19, 2004: UNRWA Nuzha School for Boys, Amman, Jordan hosted by West Wilkes HS in Millers Creek, North Carolina.
 
January 23-February 12, 2004: Students from Mansoura Secondary School for Girls in Mansoura, and Zagazig Secondary School for Boys in Zagazig, Egypt hosted by Spokane, WA.
 
January 31 to February 18, 2004: Students from Assiut, Egypt hosted by Riverwood HS in Atlanta, GA.
 
May 5-May 26, 2004: Students from Lahore, Pakistan hosted by Cardozo High School in Washington DC.May 5-May26, 2004: Students from Karachi, Pakistan hosted by Wilson High School in Washington DC.
 
May 7-May 28, 2004: Students from Lebanon hosted by Natrona County High School in Casper, Wyoming.
 
May 8-May 29, 2004: Students from Morocco hosted by The Metropolitan Learning Center in Bloomfield, CT.
 
November 17- December 10, 2004: Students from La Salle School in Amman, Jordan hosted by The International Preparatory School in Cleveland, OH.

February 12-March 5, 2006: Students from Cardozo High School in Washington, DC hosted by Swefieh Secondary School for Girls and Jamil Shaker Secondary School for Boys in Amman, Jordan.
