Journalism Training for Kuwait Teachers

Twenty Kuwaiti educators from 11 different high schools participated in a 4 day journalism workshop from January 8 -12, 2012 as part of the Kuwait High School Journalism Program.

This program, funded by the Bureau for Near Eastern Affairs, Office of Middle East Partnership Initiatives (MEPI), U.S. Department of State and the U.S.A. Embassy in Kuwait, focuses on developing journalism and media skills among students and educators in Kuwait. The program

The workshop taught educators the key components of journalism and reviewed how to implement a journalism curriculum in classrooms and schools. Kuwaiti journalist, Mr. Abdul Rehman Musfer, conducted the training in Arabic. Following the training, educators will be paired with 7 journalists who will provide mentorship and support to schools throughout the year.
