Tell your story far and wide and right home.
Send press releases out to local and state newspapers and
television stations. Write articles for state and national
professional journals. iEARN will publish requests for articles
in the regular iEARN in Action http://www.iearn.org/news/index.html
and iEARN-US newsletters.
Suggestions for an iEARN making a difference
story /case study
Different publications will be interested in different content. Below are some points you can consider using.
- Introduce your school and community, including the class
age of the students, etc.
- Briefly describe your project and how it helped you achieve
curriculum standards; mention the curriculum standards.
- What were the outcomes? Talk about outcomes and results,
both tangible and affective outcomes. Were there any
unexpected outcomes/successes as a result of your involvement
in iEARN? Share a few examples, web links or references.
- How did your students respond as they participated? Include
some students’ quotes.
- How is teaching through an iEARN project different from
teaching the same subjects/topics in a traditional/regular
way?
- What were the responses of Principal, curriculum leaders,
parents etc.?
- What challenges did you face and how did you overcome
them?
- Make recommendations to your fellow teachers about online
project based learning with iEARN.
- Attach lesson plans for the iEARN project.
- Share how you assessed your students' work.
- Add some pictures of students and your classrooms. Please
get permission from the parents and school to publish them
and submit that written permission along with all pictures.
- The vision and purpose of iEARN is to enable young people
to undertake projects designed to make a meaningful contribution
to the health and welfare of the planet and its people.

the world a better place.
