Creative Art Online Course Weekly Outline

In order for you to get a better understanding of the Creative Art
course content, we outline the weekly activities of the course in the
following. Before you read on to the content, please, take another look
at the iEARN online course prerequisites for participants:
* Basic word processing, Internet and e-mailing skills
* Reliable access to a computer and Internet
* Availability to commit at least 5 hours a week to course activities
* A classroom/students whom you will be working with throughout the course period
* Working knowledge of English
Now, please, read the Weekly Outline of the iEARN Creative Art online course.
Please,
note that all of the discussions of the course throughout the nine
weeks will take place in the iEARN onlne forum. All assignments are
expected to be posted in the Forum as well. The iEARN online forum
provides a space for ongoing interactions among course facilitators and
participants throughout the course.
WEEK 1
Week 1 is one of the first two weeks of orientation. During these two
weeks, you will have opportunity to familiarize yourself to the
features and contents of the course and practice the technology used in
the course delivery.

- Posting to the Creative Arts Forum

WEEK 2
The orientation continues in the week 2.
The core activities:
- Online Project-Based Learning
- Web Resources for Project-Based Learning
- Constructivism: Structure and Methodology for Project-Based Learning
- Wrapping up Week 2
WEEK 3
This
week holds a few hints, introductions to other teachers in iEARN
and some useful iEARN links. The class will have a guest teacher during
this week.
Core activities:
- Continuing the iEARN Tour
- Sound and Moving Images
- Guest Artist
- Wrapping Up Week 3
WEEK 4
This
week you'll continue the discussion with the Guest Teacher on his/her
experiences on using technology in classroom instruction and working on
iEARN projects. You'll also make choices on what projects you'd like to
work on. Fiannly, you'll take a musuem tour and create your own
Portrait Gallery!
So, the core activites of the week:

WEEK 5
This week you will develop a unit to use in our classrooms that integrates the arts with criticism and literacy.
Core activities:
- More Museum Activities
- Wrapping Up Week 5
WEEK 6
In
this week we will see how the projects are developing and start to
think about a new art project we can develop as a class for iEARN.
Core activitties:
- Planning for a New Creative Arts Project for iEARN
- Ongoing project updates
WEEK 7
This week you will have some opportunites to do catching
up, make sure you are "on track" with your projects, and do
some planning for this class's new project.

- Catching Up
- Implementation of the New Project Planning
- Reflections on Week 7
WEEK 8
This
week the class will finalize the project it initiated and develop a
Project Templete for iEARN. The class will, also, have a discussion on
how the online course experience has been for each of you, on the basis
of the Reflections from the previous week. This is also a week for
catching your breaths before the final week!
WEEK 9
This
is the final week of the course. There are three major activities for
the week. You have to finish the Final Paper for the course, do the
last minutes updates on your indivdual Project Plan and he new Project
Templete.
So, the core activities:
- Final Paper, 5 page, double spaced
- Updates on Individual Project Plan
- Updates on Class Project
A successful completion of an iEARN
online course is only the beginning of a fruitefull collaboration
between You, your students and your school, and the iEARN global
community! You will have many other opportunities for professional
development by taking part in various international, regional and local
conferences and sharing your experiences with those who are interested.
